Chelsea will be aiming to break into the Premier League’s top four when they visit the City Ground for a Saturday lunchtime clash against a struggling Nottingham Forest side.
Enzo Maresca found himself under scrutiny after Chelsea endured a disappointing September, managing just one win in five matches—a narrow 2-1 victory over League One’s Lincoln City in the League Cup. During that stretch, Chelsea lost their Champions League opener away at Bayern, suffered defeats at Manchester United and at home to Brighton, and conceded a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 2-2 with Brentford in the league.
However, the Italian manager eased some of the pressure with a 1-0 Champions League win over Jose Mourinho’s Benfica at Stamford Bridge, followed by a dramatic stoppage-time winner from Brazilian Estevao to secure a 2-1 victory against champions Liverpool.
On the other hand, Ange Postecoglou remains under significant pressure, having failed to win any of his seven matches in charge at the City Ground. Most recently, Forest suffered a 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park against Newcastle, a result that leaves them just one place and one point above the relegation zone.
