Students completing this four-year PhD program will receive a joint PhD degree from both institutions.
Apply from October 30th to January 7th
The application process for admission to the IIT Delhi and University of Queensland Joint PhD Program begins on October 30th. The deadline for applications is January 7th, 2026. Applications can be submitted online by clicking on UQIITD.org.
The list of students whose applications will be accepted for the Joint PhD will be released between January 21st and March 4th, 2026. Interviews for selected students will be held from April 7th to 16th, 2026.
How much scholarship will be available?
Selected students will be awarded scholarships from among those admitted to the IIT Delhi and University of Queensland Joint PhD Program. This scholarship will be awarded for four years. This scholarship includes a living allowance and the University of Queensland Scholarship Fee.
According to information, eligible students enrolled in the joint PhD program between IIT Delhi and the University of Queensland will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 for the first year at IIT Delhi. A monthly stipend of ₹42,000 for the third and fourth years will be provided. A top-up of ₹10,000 per month will also be provided.
An annual stipend of ₹36,400 will be provided during the research tour at the University of Queensland (in the second year). A scholarship will also cover tuition fees at the University of Queensland, while travel and transfer allowances for the second year from India to Australia will also be included in the scholarship.
