What is PAN 2.0 Scam?
According to the Bloombreg report, phishing emails are sent from email addresses like info@smt.plusoasis.com. It is written in this email that you get your PAN 2.0 card. These emails contain links that look like links to government portals. As soon as you click on this link, it will immediately redirect you to fraudulent websites.
The department warned
The PIB Fact Check Unit has posted these emails on social media and warned people. They wrote Scam Alert! Have you received an email asking you to click on a link to download your e-PAN card? This email is fake. Similarly, the Income Tax Department has also clarified that the department never sends such messages. Real PAN services are available only on official websites ending with .gov.in or .nic.in.
You will have to give this detail to the website.
After this, those fake websites will ask you for your PAN number, Aadhaar card details, bank account details and other personal information. As soon as you enter all the details, this data can be used for theft, financial fraud or transactions. For this reason, if you also get any such email, do not open it.
