Apple today unveiled the iPhone 17, the latest model in its smartphone lineup. The new iPhone features updates to its display, cameras, and processing, along with the integration of Apple Intelligence.

Display
The iPhone 17 comes with a 6.3-inch display with ProMotion technology, allowing for a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.1 It also includes an Always-On display and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.2 The screen is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which is noted to be three times more scratch-resistant than the previous generation due to its bonding at the atomic level.
Power Inside
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the new A19 chip, which features a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU. Apple stated that the new chip offers a speed boost over the previous iPhone and enhances the gaming experience. The device also supports Apple Intelligence, a new set of on-device AI features.3
Camera Upgrade
The iPhone 17's camera system has also been updated.4 It includes a 48MP FUSION Ultrawide camera and a 48MP primary camera, which together are referred to as the "Dual Fusion" system. Apple noted that the Ultrawide camera provides a four-fold resolution improvement over the iPhone 16. The front camera is now a "Center Stage" camera with a larger, square sensor that is designed to capture four different compositions without the need to rotate the phone. This new sensor is capable of producing images up to 18MP. Video capabilities have also been improved with enhanced on-the-move video, an Action mode, and the Center Stage feature optimized for video calls.
Battery
Apple stated that the new iPhone has an all-day battery life, with an additional eight hours of video playback compared to the iPhone 16. It also supports faster wired charging, reaching 50% battery in 20 minutes.
Storage
The base storage for the iPhone 17 starts at 256GB.5 The device will ship with iOS 26.
Price
The iPhone 17 starts at $799 in US and Rs. 82,900 in India.
