The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025, originally scheduled to begin on August 13. The examination will now be held in the first week of September. The Commission stated that the delay is intended to allow a rigorous review of its examination platform and overall operational preparedness.
Linked to broader quality assurance measures
According to the SSC, the postponement is part of a wider quality assurance effort to ensure the smooth conduct of its examinations. The Commission aims to identify and resolve any technical or operational vulnerabilities before administering the CGL and other upcoming recruitment tests.
This decision follows issues encountered during the recent Selection Posts/Phase XIII examinations, where technical disruptions required rescheduling and retests for over 55,000 candidates.
OTR edit facility reopening in mid-August
In a separate update, the Commission announced that the One Time Registration (OTR) edit facility will reopen from August 14 to 31, 2025. This will allow candidates to revise their registration details ahead of the September recruitment cycle.
SSC has clarified that no changes will be permitted after the edit window closes. Candidates are advised to check their details carefully to avoid discrepancies during the application and selection process.
The revised schedule for the CGL and other exams will be posted soon on the official SSC website. Candidates are encouraged to monitor the site regularly for updates.
