Tata Motors on Monday started production of its all-electric Harrier SUV at the company’s Pune plant, reported TOI. This new model marks the company’s first offering with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. Bookings for the Harrier EV have started already, with deliveries scheduled to begin in July 2025, as per the TOI report.
The Harrier EV will be available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and AWD configurations. The RWD version comes in five variants and two battery options—65 kWh and 75 kWh. The 65 kWh versions are priced at Rs 21.49 lakh (Adventure), Rs 21.99 lakh (Adventure S), and Rs 23.99 lakh (Fearless Plus). The larger 75 kWh battery is offered in Fearless Plus at Rs 24.99 lakh and Empowered at Rs 27.49 lakh. The top-spec Empowered AWD variant is priced at Rs 28.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The AC fast charger and its installation will be billed separately.
Key Features
The Harrier EV RWD variants are equipped with a single motor at the rear axle producing 238 hp. The AWD version uses a dual-motor setup with a 75 kWh LFP battery delivering a combined output of 313 hp and 504 Nm of torque. Tata claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 6.3 seconds with Boost mode on.
According to MIDC figures, the 75 kWh RWD variant offers a range of up to 627 km on a full charge, while the AWD version delivers up to 622 km. Using a 7.2 kW AC charger, the vehicle takes about 10.7 hours to charge from 10% to 100%. With a 120 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 25 minutes (as claimed by the company), the TOI report stated.
The Harrier EV features a 14.53-inch infotainment screen with Samsung Neo QLED technology, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and a touch-based HVAC panel. It includes a rotary dial for selecting six terrain modes—Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom. The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated and powered front seats, second-row Boss mode, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1, powered tailgate, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities.
Other highlights include an all-digital IRVM, auto park assist, and Tata’s new TiDAL (Tata Intelligent Digital Architecture Layer) platform. TiDAL enables connected features such as over-the-air updates, voice commands, a 540-degree camera system, and a new DrivePay function that facilitates toll and EV charging payments without a mobile phone.
In terms of safety, the SUV comes with seven airbags, a built-in dashcam, a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, electronic stability control, and Level 2 ADAS features.
