The Punjab State Women’s Commission summoned singers Yo Yo Honey Singh and Karan Aujla for the alleged use of objectionable lyrics in their respective songs, Millionaire and MF Gabru. The summons was issued on August 7, Thursday, and the commission has sought immediate action against the two singers.
The women's commission took suo moto cognizance of the matter and sent a letter to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), demanding action against the singers, to discourage them and others from singing such lyrics in future.
Honey Singh and Karan Aujla have been summoned by the commission to appear before it on August 11, Monday.
