Have you ever heard of a case where someone turns on the bed and their bone breaks... maybe your answer is no but this has happened with a 48 year old woman. The woman's bone broke just by changing sides. This case is surprising to hear but this case has been heard from Chengdu City of China.

According to doctors, the bone of a 48-year-old woman broke just by turning on the bed. According to doctors, there was a severe deficiency of vitamin D in the woman's body and due to this deficiency, the woman's bones had become very weak. The reason for this severe deficiency of vitamin D was the woman not getting sunlight. Since childhood, the woman had been avoiding sunlight and she used to apply more sunscreen than necessary. According to the information received, the woman had been protecting herself from the sun since childhood. She never wore a half-sleeved shirt nor did she ever go out of the house without sunscreen. She used to apply sunscreen before going out of the house. Doctors have also presented this case as a warning for those who use more sunscreen than necessary.
Sunlight is very important for bonesSince childhood, we have been hearing that sunlight is very important for our body and bones. According to Jiang Xiaobing, director of the Department of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at Guangzhou Medical University, many people go out covering themselves completely from head to toe to avoid sunlight, which is very harmful for health. The bones of our body renew themselves every 10 years, but after the age of 30, the bone density starts decreasing by 0.5 to 1 percent every year. In such a situation, if the body does not get enough sunlight and the amount of calcium is low and there is a deficiency of Vitamin D, then calcium cannot be absorbed in the bones.
Effective measures to overcome vitamin D deficiencyVitamin D deficiency has become a very common problem nowadays, especially due to urban lifestyle, less sun exposure and lack of nutrition. It can cause problems like bone weakness, fatigue, depression, weakened immune system and muscle pain.
1. Take natural sunlight (Sunlight Exposure)The cheapest and most effective source of vitamin D is sunlight. 15–30 minutes of sunlight between 8 and 11 am can be sufficient for the body. Try to expose your skin to direct sunlight – such as hands, face, feet, etc.
2. Eat foods rich in vitamin DFortified milk and yogurt available in the market fortified with vitamin D, egg yolk is a good source, mushroom (especially UV-exposed mushroom), fish (salmon, tuna, sardine) are the best sources in non-veg, fortified cereals and oats are useful in breakfast.
3. Vitamin D supplements (Doctor's Advice Only)If the deficiency is severe, the doctor may prescribe vitamin D3 supplements or injections (such as Uprise D3). This can be taken once a week or once a month, depending on the diagnosis and advice.
4. Physical activityInstead of sitting indoors all day, do light exercise or walk so that the body can use vitamin D better.
Precautions: Do not consume too much vitamin D without consulting a doctor. Children, pregnant women and the elderly may need it more, so get regular checkups done.
Recognize the symptoms of vitamin D deficiencyConstant fatigue,
bone pain or weakness,
falling sick frequently,
hair loss,
mood swings or depression.
If these symptoms are seen, then a Vitamin D Test (25-Hydroxy D test) should be done by a doctor.
Disclaimer: Vitamin D deficiency can lead to many health problems, but it can be easily overcome with proper diet, regular sunlight and supplements if needed. It is important that you do not ignore it, because a small deficiency can become a major disease in the long run.
