Diljit Dosanjh, the Punjabi singer-actor who has now established himself as an international star, continues to mesmerize fans with his Aura World Tour. But along with his success, the actor has also faced his share of controversies in 2025. His film Sardaarji 3 became the center of a storm, with some even accusing him of anti-national behavior. For months, Diljit remained silent. However, during his recent concert in Malaysia, he finally addressed the issue, speaking straight from the heart.
Viral clips from the concert show Diljit saluting the Indian flag on stage. With the tricolor in the spotlight, he told the audience, “That’s my country’s flag. I always respect it.” He then asked for permission to share a few words, opening up about the controversy that had hounded him.
“The shooting of Sardaarji 3 was completed in February, while matches are still being played,” he said, indirectly referring to the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry. “I have many answers, but I choose silence. Life has taught me that if someone throws venom at you, don’t take it in. That’s why I don’t react, even though I have so much to say. The media often tries to show Punjab in a negative light, but remember—Punjabis never go against the country.”
The controversy began after the tragic attack on Kashmiri tourists in Pahalgam, which fueled anger against Pakistan. Around the same time, Sardaarji 3 released, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir opposite Diljit. This led to calls for boycotting the film and harsh criticism of the actor. Diljit has now clarified that the movie was shot months before the incident. He also pointed out the irony—while his film faced protests for including a Pakistani actress, cricket matches between India and Pakistan continue without such backlash.
Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2025 has kept cricket fans glued. India remains unbeaten in the tournament, securing a place in the finals. Having alre
