Andrea Bocelli confesses his true hopes for kids Virginia and Matteo's singing careers

Andrea Bocelli is a global chart-topping opera singer, so when his children Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli first picked up a microphone, the world paid attention.

Three years ago, the trio released A Bocelli Family Christmas album, as it had soon become clear through live duets that the tenor's offspring had inherited his talent.

Now his 27-year-old son has just released his second solo album, while his 13-year-old daughter continues to sing with her father professionally.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Daily Express, Andrea shared his hopes for their future careers.

The 67-year-old father said: "I don't have hopes for any of my children. I just hope that I have left them with some principles and some values like honesty and being hard working, which sets the foundations for any career."

We then asked Andrea if there were any plans to get back in the recording studio with Virginia and Matteo.

Bocelli replied: "I don't know, at the moment. Should any constructive ideas come about that can be interesting for the big audience, why not? However, in the meantime, Virginia has to focus on studying. She is about to start school, and she will have to be focused on school. She has just started studying Latin and this is the important thing for her. Matteo is about to release his new album, a beautiful album with important songs. So that's all I can say. They have other commitments and other important things to do at the moment."
