Argos drops Roberts Radio price below £40 as Black Friday deals soar

A portable radio is an engaging way to fill the silence at home, from background music in the kitchen to sports commentary in the garage. Even in today's world of limitless streaming and endless playlists, these lightweight devices still have their place, especially in areas with poor mobile signal or limited Wi-Fi.

Currently, Argos is selling the Roberts Play 11 DAB+/FM portable radio for £39.97. That's 20% off its usual price of £49.99.This compact radio measures just 11cm x 17.5cm x 6cm and comes in a stylish cloth finish.

The Roberts Play 11 radio can be powered by four AA batteries or the mains, and there's a USB-C power cable included. It also has a sleep timer plus a headphone socket for private listening.

Another option is the JVC RA-D32H DAB+/FM clock radio, which currently costs £33.99 at Currys, down from £49.99. It has space for 60 station presets and can wake the user with the built-in snoozable alarm.

Those on the move might consider the Roxicosly wind-up radio with DAB+/DAB/FM from Amazon for £53.99. This impressive piece of kit is an excellent companion for camping, as it can be powered by an integrated solar panel or hand crank, has a built-in flashlight, and also functions as a power bank for other devices.

Many Argos shoppers are happy with the Roberts Play 11 radio, which holds a 4.5/5 rating on the website. One left a comment: "This is a super little radio which gives me Classic FM that other radios don't."

A second review said: "Very pleased with my purchase. Good value for money and looks very smart and well-made. A great little radio, so much on it with the push of a button! I bought it to have on in my craft room, and despite no internet connection, it seems to work just fine."
