A resident has expressed their frustration over a neighbour's incessant intrusion, two years after an incident that forever altered their relationship.
The anonymous individual revealed they were being constantly watched by the neighbour and saw little chance of mending their strained relationship.
The resident took to the r/NeighboursfromHell Reddit page to share their predicament, confirming that a "furious" altercation between them had soured their rapport years ago.
The situation doesn't seem to be improving anytime soon, as the homeowner claimed their nightmare neighbour was always peering at their property.
Some members of the public have since suggested installing reflective material so the neighbour can see their own reflection while staring.
Whether this solution will prove effective remains to be seen, as the resident disclosed it had been a long-standing issue with the neighbour ever since they reprimanded their grandchild.
The anonymous resident elaborated: "More than two years ago, I had a very ugly confrontation with the grandmother of a boy who kept knocking on my door and running off. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, because I have CCTV cameras so I knew who it was.
"After he did it the third time, I got up, went outside, found him in the drive a few doors down, and told him off.
"Within two minutes, I had his gran banging on my door. She was furious. Ready to hit me. As if I had been in the wrong, rather than her grandson.
"She shouted horrible abuse at me for several minutes at my door, didn't leave my property when I asked her to, and really got in my face. I've never been spoken to with such venom. The whole thing was awful."
However, the ordeal didn't conclude there, with the homeowner revealing they remained terrified of their neighbour even following police intervention.
The resident continued: "Police had a firm word with her, told her to leave me alone from now on, to keep away from me. They treated it as a hate incident.
"Jump ahead two years plus. This woman, absolutely horrid, low class type of woman, stares into my front window every time she walks past, in both directions, and she does it nearly every day."
Social media users have since recommended installing reflective material to force the woman to see her own reflection.
One individual commented: "Put something reflective in the windows so she's stuck staring back at her own ugly face. Leave it there for a while and maybe she'll stop."
A second person advised: "Any attention you give her and I mean any, will only prolong this. Put up reflective window film, go about your business and never look her way.
"People like this look for any little glance their way to see for a reaction. Don't give this to her. Use your cameras and ignore."
