Meghan Markle reportedly showed a major sign that she wanted to "take Prince Harry with her" prior to their exit being revealed. An eagle-eyed observer earlier revealed that they knew the drama with their royal exit, which was dubbed 'Megxit' in the media, would unfold weeks before the couple tied the knot back in 2018.
Journalist and royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith revealed on herSubstack Royal Extras last week that the late monarch had allegedly said just days before the couple's royal wedding in Windsor, "We hope but don't quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all."
Speaking during an intervew back in April 2018 - just one month before Meghan and Harry tied that the knot - writer Germaine Greer predicted that Meghan would likely "bolt" back to the US. She told 60 Minutes Australia: "Let's hope they're in love. If they're not it's going to be totally unbearable. She will see vistas of boredom that are unbelievable. I think the pressure to escape from the firm is crushing."
Germaine then went on to explain to interviewer Tara Brown why she thought Meghan might leave, before claiming that she had "bolted before" - citing Meghan's short-lived marriage to her first husband, Trevor Engelson. Rather than actually divorcing Harry, however, she predicted that Harry would leave for the US with his wife. She said: "I think she'll bolt. I hope in a way that she'll bolt but maybe she'll take Harry with her."
