Prince George celebrated his 12th birthday with his family yesterday, with a new photograph released by Kensington Palace to mark the milestone. While the photograph of the future King was believed to have been taken earlier this year rather than on his special day, George could be seen beaming at the camera in Norfolk as he leaned casually on a garden gate.
Wearing a shirt and a sleeveless fleece jacket, the young royal looks extremely grown-up in the snap, which was taken by Josh Shinner. While many were quick to compliment the prince on just how grown-up he looks, others were more focused on working out who George looks like.
Although many in the past have compared George to many of his Spencer relatives, including Princess Diana's brother, royal fans now think George looks just like one senior royal when they were the same age.
Taking to Instagram, fans have said they think George is a "spitting image" of his dad Prince William when he was younger.
One fan wrote: "You look more like your Dad every year!"
A second said: "I remember William so well when he was this age..this is his twin!"
Another commented: "He is the spitting image of his dad!"

Someone else remarked: "Wow, I thought it was a young Prince William at first."
As well as releasing a new photograph of George to mark his birthday on Tuesday, Kensington Palace also shared a short video, which included scenes of George with his siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
In one scene, George and Charlotte can be seen lifting a young Prince Louis in the air, with the sound of their giggles being heard in the background.
Another moment shows the siblings walking hand-in-hand in what is believed to be the family's Norfolk garden. The footage was also taken earlier this year.
