If you're going on an all-inclusive holiday this summer, making the most of the food and drink available is always a priority for holidaymakers. But experts say there's one mistake you could be making when drinking at your hotel that could leave you feeling worse for wear.
All-inclusive holidays now make up over 60% of trips, up 5% in the last two years, according to the Office for National Statistics. Millions of Brits will be enjoying unlimited cocktails this summer, along with the occasional brutal hangover. But it doesn't have to be that way. Jonathan Sitson, drinks expert and founder of cocktail tools brand Quick Whip, says it's important to think about what alcohol you're drinking.

"When everything's on tap, it's easy to go too hard, too early. But there is a way you can still enjoy the drinks menu without wiping out the next day and losing valuable time of your trip," says Jonathon.
One tip he suggests is to be wary of sugary drinks, he warns that frozen cocktails and sweet mixers are a big culprit.
"Sugar speeds up alcohol absorption, dehydrates you faster, and makes hangovers more intense. Avoid syrups and juice-heavy drinks when you can."
This tip often goes overlooked with many Brits not realising sugary drinks can add to dehydration.

But this isn't the only tip Jonathan suggests. It might sound basic but there's another easy way to stay hydrated while making the most of your drinks package.
He says many often forget to alternate alcohol with water. He adds: "It sounds basic, but the 'one-to-one' rule (a glass of water for every alcoholic drink) really works, especially in hot climates where dehydration happens faster."
Other tips include sticking to one type of drink which can be hard when there's such a big selection on offer and going easy on the fizz as bubbly drinks can increase alcohol absorption.
By following these simple rules, you won't be faced with a holiday hangover and you'll be able to enjoy your break without becoming dehydrated.
