Jaipur: Two men were arrested Wednesday for throwing chilli powder on a 70-year-old woman and robbing her earrings in a secluded area near Jhalana Doongri on May 19. The accused also robbed Rs 20,000 in cash. The accused were identified as Aniket alias Kalu and Shahil Gujarati. They were found with injuries sustained while fleeing over barbed-wire fencing.
The complainant, Manni Devi, a resident of Shiv Colony in Jhalana Doongri, went to graze her cattle around 1pm when she was ambushed. While seated near the forest area, two young men approached her from behind, incapacitated her with chilli powder, and tore off her earrings and necklace.
The earrings were yanked with such force that her ears began bleeding.
The duo then fled with her cash and ornaments. Despite her injuries, Manni Devi was able to recognise one of the attackers as Aniket, a local youth known to her. She filed a complaint at the local police station, accompanied by her son Ramkishan. Upon receiving a PCR alert, a police team reached the scene and rushed the injured woman to SMS Hospital. An FSL team was called to collect evidence. TNN
