The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) issued notices to e-commerce platforms in India including Amazon India, Flipkart, Ubuy India, Etsy, The Flag Company, and The Flag Corporation over the sale of Pakistani national flags and related merchandise. In a post on Twitter (now X), the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi said that the ministry has directed ecommerce companies to immediately take down such listings, calling the sale “insensitive” and a violation of national sentiment. Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses officially entered the Indian market, with nationwide availability set for May 19. The AI-powered eyewear, priced starting at Rs 29,900, will be sold through Ray-Ban.com and select optical retailers across the country. Amazon has reportedly fired 100 employees within its Devices and Services division. According to a report by Reuters, the company said the jobs represented a small number of the total for the unit and were part of its regular business review. The Devices and Services unit is responsible for developing popular hardware products such as the Echo smart speakers, Fire TV devices, and Ring security systems.
